
I talk to a lot of field service representatives every week. From those conversations, I know that about 99% of all of the problems in the field services industry are in the MORTGAGE segment. Many of these representatives work for some really awful customers. They tell me grim stories … they well recognize that they work for some awful companies. The problem is that they continue to work for these awful companies. They don’t quit. Maybe they need to muster up some courage. Don’t be bullied by an awful customer. Getting a lot of volume does not make up for all of the grief you suffer. Stress will kill you. Practice saying good-bye and then make the call. You want to get paid for what is owed to you, so make it a friendly departure even though you hate them. Get jury duty for 90 days … take care of a sick relative … fall and break your hip … have a spouse get a job transfer to Quebec, Canada.
Simple. They’re so desperate they need the money and can’t find anyone else 🙂
