Alex (not his real name, or maybe it is) is a field services representative. He is really uneducated when it comes to the Internet. He does NOT know how to use an opt-in/opt-out subscription. He emails me on a Sunday morning saying that I need to remove his subscription as he cannot figure out how to unsubscribe.
Every opt-in/opt-out subscription email contains an opt-out link. A simple click on the opt-out link is all that is required to opt-out of the subscription. Alex cannot read … he is lazy or Internet uneducated, or both.
If Alex subscribed to a WordPress blog and then forgot his username and password, then he will have to deal direct with WordPress in order to unsubscribe. I cannot access the WordPress subscriber database because of privacy. It’s your problem Alex and not my problem.
Alex should never be allowed to log on to the Internet. I took care of his laptop computer this morning with some new technology available to me. His smart phone is next. Please don’t interrupt me on a Sunday morning with a stupid email or I will take care of your computer.
Alex … there are somethings in life that are your responsibility alone. Take charge of your life and take some responsibility for your actions. Learn how to use the Internet and stop wasting my time.
