Hiring firms love the field service representative who can work magic and get inspection tasks or property preservation tasks done right and done on time. If you happen to notice that your work is slowing down over a short period of time, it may be because your customer thinks you are a big baby requiring too much monitoring. Hiring firms are giving the work to grownups who don’t require constant monitoring. If you need attention every hour of the day, you are probably not suited well for field services. Hiring firms do not want to have to babysit field service representatives. Don’t be a baby!

That goes both ways. I have one client who I keep trying to get to go away but they keep coming back. The need for information and updates from them borders on harassment. Add to that their fees are the lowest of any of my clients and the vendor manager is a young person who is absolutely no help 98% of the time and it becomes a major distraction.
