If field service inspectors priced their inspection services like a taxi company they would make a lot more money. Field inspectors do not have a trip meter on their dash and some field inspectors often lose money on every trip to the field. Mathematics and analysis is important. I talked to a field inspector today who is paid for travel on field service inspections. He said he was paid $13 an hour for travel. So, is $13 an hour a good rate? Listen to my comments about doing the mathematics in the field services industry.
