The Green Swamp is a swamp in Florida. It lies west of Highway 27 in Polk, Lake, Sumter, Hernando and Pasco Counties. I bicycle in the green swamp on most days. I bicycle on the Van Fleet Trail. The General James A. Van Fleet State Trail is a rail trail in Florida, named after General James A. Van Fleet, who was a distinguished combat commander in both World Wars and the Korean War.
The segment of the Green Swamp that I bicycle extends from Mable to Polk City … about 29.5 miles. The trail is a paved trail. The Green Swamp is the home to Eastern Diamond Back rattle snake and some 14-foot alligators. The trail is safe when you stay on the trail. Leaving the trail can be very dangerous.
Compare the Van Fleet Trail to the field services industry. The field services industry can be like a swamp. If you don’t travel on the good paved trails, you can get hurt. Leave the paved trails and you could become a victim for an alligator or rattle snake.
Avoid the MORTGAGE SEGMENT of the field services industry. It is the home of $3 mortgage inspections and 99% of the problems and fraud in the field services industry. Commercial inspections is the sweet spot in the industry … higher quality firms that pay higher fees.
