Field Inspector Comments On Facebook About FEMA Disaster Inspections

“well i left the mortgage industry and did go with Vanguard and passed everything and am in deployment, have a government issued badge and tablet. it took me 5 days to go through all of their processes and training. Started it all on the 13th of this month, and was badged and deployed by the 18th plus I got paid $200 a day during that process just to check in. im deployed in florida, i can do anywhere between 10-20 inspections a day. i did not pay a penny for a background check. I get $35 an inspection and am required to work 7 days a week. It is rewarding and hard at the same time. In 5 days I made over $2,000. WSP is the other contract company. You are a temporary employee they start out at $15 an hour plus $4 per hour up to 40 hours for training. Once your deployed you get bumped up to $27 an hour plus $4 an hour for medical coverage ($31-$32 per hour) you are required with that company to complete 7 a day and they have a bonus program too. Vanguard lists all their prices and expectations on their webpage. FEMA only contracts with two companies. Vanguard and WSP. And yes you need to be able to sustain yourself for up to 3 weeks, but you are payed weekly and reimbursed government gsa rates for hotels and per diems. I am only out rental car costs at this time. Vanguard paid for my hotel and my airfare.”
