Former Law Enforcement Officer Refuses To Enter Property Posted “NO TRESPASS”

Some of the national and regional mortgage field service firms are saying that it okay to trespass on “no trespass” posted properties. It’s not okay. Call your local sheriff’s office and ask if you will be arrested and charged if you trespass on a posted property. One field service inspector with law enforcement experience says the law is very clear where he lives and he refuses to enter upon posted properties. Ignorance of the law on trespass is no excuse.

Ignorantia juris non excusat or ignorantia legis neminem excusat (Latin for “ignorance of the law does not excuse” or “ignorance of the law excuses no one”) is a legal principle holding that a person who is unaware of a law may not escape liability for violating that law merely because he or she was unaware of its content.
