Inspection Prices Are Like New Car Prices

A Mercedes usually costs much more than a Toyota Camry. There is no one price for a 2013 Mercedes or a Toyota Camry. The prices vary depending about the make, the model and the features.

The same principle applies to field service inspections. There are a lot of variables that determine the price of an inspection. Variables include the type of inspection, the detail required, the number of photos required, the time need on site to perform the inspection, the time required to travel to the inspection site, weather and road conditions, neighborhood conditions, price of gas, the time required to write the report and upload photos, the training or experience required to perform the inspection, the turnaround time for the inspection, the volume of inspections provided in the same area, the set payment schedule of the tasking firm … just to name a few considerations. There is no one price for an inspection. You cannot answer a question on an application form that says “How much do you charge for an insurance inspection”. There is no one right inspection price. The answer is “It depends”. Always get all of the details before you commit to a price.

  1. “the set payment schedule of the tasking firm” is where it starts. Then one can evaluate further. Too many inspection spots paying crap. Non-MFS companies I mean….
