Who Are These Inspectors Offering Two Dollar Mortgage Inspections?

devil%20head.jpg-675x550I talked today to a woman who was working for a Safeguard inspector and was being paid $2 for a mortgage drive-by inspection and $3 for an interior inspection. The profit after expenses and taxes is probably about 75-cents. All of the driving increases her risk of an accident and her car will be worn out in a very short time. Who are these inspectors that pay nothing for others to perform their inspections? The mortgage segment is the home of low-fee mortgage inspections ($2 … $3… $4 … $5 …) and 99% of all of the problems in the field services industry.

FirefoxScreenSnapz016As a comparison, a J.D. Banks dress shirt costs $55 while a mortgage inspection pays $2. These mortgage inspections paid 400% more twenty years ago. The world is upside down on mortgage inspections.

  1. I really appreciate you speaking the truth and I dont know if you were refering to me but I thank you for listening to me that day and giving me your direction in this business and maybe we can stand up for more pay and blow the whistle on these whistleblowers who put us in the line of fire and literally throw us the pennies! Sometimes I think is 8 quarters really worth it?! Safegurad pays no gas, no mileage and expects the work to be done immediately when due or we can give your business to the next vendor.

  2. Comment from Peggy: From Chicago Craigslist: FULL TIME or PART TIME inspector needed to complete property inspection each month in COOK county. Requirements Iphone or Android phone. – Reliable computer , printer and car – You are expected to complete between 30-40 inspections/day which typically take about 4 to 5 hours compensation $2.00 per inspection. call or text [phone number deleted]

  3. Well, it’s Safeguard. There’s your first mistake. Unfortunately too many learn after the fact because it sounds good/easy, or they get roped into it.

Heck I’d take the homes done (as they are in some stage of foreclosure usually) and sell the list or market it with investors/Realtors to make some good money! lol
