As a Naval Flight Officer (NFO, I flew night combat support missions from 7th fleet attack aircraft carriers during wartime. The Navy paid me flight pay and also combat pay because of the dangerous environment. I was paid more money because of the additional risk. If I was injured, the Navy would take care of me. If I was killed, the Navy would take care of my family.
Mortgage inspectors are entering combat zones and are being paid $3 for a mortgage inspection. These inspectors are tasked to enter some of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the U.S. Most police departments have strict standards for police when entering such dangerous neighborhoods. These strict requirements usually include police traveling in pairs with body armor, handguns and direct communications to dispatch. Police are taken care of if there are injured. Their family is taken care of if they are killed.
So why are you taking extreme risks and visiting dangerous neighborhoods where the profit on a mortgage inspection is about $1.50? The Order Mill that sends you into that bad neighborhood will not help you if you are injured. They will not support your family if you are killed. Have a long frank talk with yourself and ask why you are working in a combat zone without receiving hazardous duty pay.
$1.50 for a mortgage inspection in the “Badlands” of Philadelphia is a joke. Avoid the mortgage segment. Check out the commercial segment … higher quality firms and higher fees.
