Field Services Is Helping Seniors With Medical Care Insurance Expenses

Seniors 65 years, and older, usually use Medicare to pay for their medical needs. But, Medicare usually only covers about 80% of such medical expenses. Many seniors purchase a supplement to take care of the 20% not paid by Medicare and to cover prescription medications. You can find detailed information on Medicare at www.medicare.gov.

Last week, I talked to seniors (a married couple) in the mid-west who are both field service inspectors. They have been performing inspections in their senior years for a very long time. They pay for Medicare. They also have a supplemental medical plan to cover Medicare gaps. The supplement for the couple together costs about $300 each month. Fortunately, performing field service inspections provides addition income to pay for the Medicare and the supplemental insurance. They have faced some very expensive medical expenses recently which were covered in full by their Medicare and the supplemental insurance. Talk to a medical insurance professional.

At this writing, no Social Security cost-of-living-allowances (COLA) are expected in 2016.
