A Houston energy company has given each of its employees a $100,000 bonus this year. Hilcorp Energy announced last week that it is doling out the six-digit gift to its almost 1,400 workers.
The largest bonus I ever received was $1,500 from Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) when I put together a winning defense contract. I did receive annual pay raises every year. I received a nice Christmas gift every year when I worked for one national field services firm. Bonuses and holiday gifts are rare in the field services industry … probably, because of the independent contractor status of reps. When working for some mortgage order mills (MOMs), it’s a gift if you just get paid for the work you performed.
