These days, most Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. At this point 62 percent of all Americans have less than 1,000 dollars in their savings accounts, and 21 percent of all Americans do not have a savings account at all.
The lack of saving is especially dramatic when you look at Americans under the age of 55. Incredibly, fewer than 10 percent of all Millennials and only about 16 percent of those that belong to Generation X have 10,000 dollars or more saved up.
It has been estimated that 43 percent of all American households spend more money than they make each month.

Alex (not his real name) in San Diego is retired and on social security and medicare. He makes an extra $20,000 a year performing part-time field service inspections. Do the math for yourself: Three of the $35 commercial business verifications (about 10 minutes onsite) a week will earn a field service inspector about $400 a month, or $4,800 a year, after expenses. Performing more than three inspections a week and you will earn you more income. In the larger metropolitan areas, you can grow your business to full-time.
