Raccoons are very smart. They can open complex locks in under 10 tries. They can repeat the process if the locks are rearranged or turned upside down. They also remember solutions to problems for up to three years. They also know how to use a small rock and knock on a door for food.
Most property preservation mechanics open locks with a big hammer or twist it off with channel-locks. Maybe they need a raccoon on their crew for the lock changes. Save money by re-keying and re-cycling locks … get a raccoon.
I got a property preservation assignment once. I took off the old lock, which had been painted over. I called the scheduler when I couldn’t get the new lock on. I never did get it installed. I had to turn the job over to a a man who remodels antique homes. I returned the door locks, which I considered expensive, to the store. I was told to watch lock replacement on You Tube. I haven’t had another assignment exactly like that one which was about two years ago.
