State income taxes are higher in the dark blue states such as California, Hawaii, Oregon, Minnesota and Iowa. Seven states have no state income tax. Field inspectors in the blue states such as California should get about 7% more than the national average price for any field inspection. California is a high income tax state. It costs field inspectors more to live and work in the “land of paradise”. They should ask for higher inspection fees … about 7% higher. The state income tax in California is 13.3% compared to NO state income tax in Florida, Texas and a few other states.
