When you perform a property preservation task, your customer is going to ask for some photographs. That’s fine. They will get the photographs.
I also like to first walk the exterior and interior of a foreclosure property with a video camera. I will take lots of video and make audio comments on the video. If I see a problem, I will pay particular attention to the problem in the video.
This is only for my protection and I do not tell my customers about the video or provide the video to the customer. In today’s world I would use an iPhone for these videos as the smartphone camera is great under low-light conditions. A detailed video can keep you out of trouble.
A couple of times a year I will walk through my own home and take a video of all of my furniture and possessions. I upload the video to the cloud. If my house should ever burn to the ground, I have a video to help me with my homeowners insurance claim.
