Yeah! … Those Baby Boomer Field Inspectors Are Hard To Deal With

The field service firms complain about some of the “Baby Boomer” field inspectors … the old timers. Many are hard to deal with. I know from first-hand experience. With some of them, you have to explain to them how to load a CD into their computer. You have to explain to them that they upload their photos … that they are not put in an envelope and mailed. You have to explain a PDF, ZIP and a JPG. Their computers run slow as they are infected with every Malware ever created. They want a check mailed to them … not Direct Deposit. They prefer to FAX information and not email it. Vendor Managers … watch the video and see what is coming to you after the baby boomers depart our universe.

Snowflakes wil be coming to the field services industry at some point in the future. You had better be prepared? Vendor managers will soon better appreciate the baby boomers that you know today.

  2. I have been working in the computer industry since 1976. Recently for 12 years I was a Technical Support Engineer for CT and PET/CT, fixing problems with hardware and software that gen x’ers were unable to resolve. I am currently a part time Service Engineer and performing inspections part time, I am 65 years old and believe your characterisation is a bit of a generalization.
