If you are going to get paid for performing a field service inspection with a drone, you will need a “commercial” drone license. When the FAA first started writing the rules, they required a pilot license to fly a commercial drone. That has all changed. I have a pilot license and flying a drone is not as complicated as flying a fixed wing aircraft.
