Networking with other SOFI members can make you cry when you learn from another inspectors that they are performing the same inspections as you and making much more than you for the same inspection. Some field inspectors have never talked to another field inspector.
We don’t do forums. Waste of time. Our Directory comes with a CD that lists inspector contract information. The best networking is direct networking. Talk to faraway inspectors … no competition … more sharing. No good stuff posted in forums … just complaints.
Networking always makes sense, it’s a source of knowledge and experience otherwise missed. I want to make sure I’m making the most possible per inspection. My team will definitely go through more training.
